History of “Baldauren”

On behalf of the Head of State Nursultan Nazarbayev on the basis of the decision of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan № 1679 from  7th  of November 2000 with the aim of recreation, rehabilitation of children and teenagers and provide the necessary conditions for the development of their creative abilities has been created (similar to the International Children's Center " Artek ") Republican children's health camp (RCHC)" Baldauren ". On January 30, 2004 it was renamed into the Republican educational health Center (REHC) "Baldauren".

The construction and reconstruction of the center was made on the basis of sanatorium "Astana" (formerly "Tselinny Zheleznodorozhnik (Railroader)", built in 1985) with the financial support of the Italian company “Eni”.

Design project of children's center was created by the Italian designer and architect Salvatore Avveduto.

The official opening of the Republican children's camp "Baldauren" took place on December 14, 2002.

The total area of the Center territory is 8.62 hectares, the area of useful building is 15 288 sq.m. A six-story building, where the ground floor is the school, 2, 3, 4, 5 floors are bedrooms, the 6th floor is for game rooms, hobby groups and art gallery. There is a five-storied medical complex, two-storied sport complex, three-storied administrative complex, an indoor swimming pool, a boiler-laundry and auto transport, greenhouses in the centre.
